I’m Keith Kalmanowicz, a third-generation Dupont neighbor running as a write-in for Mayor. This campaign is about protecting our homes, supporting our families, and keeping Dupont the kind of place where people want to stay, raise kids, and retire. Dupont First. Every Decision.
1) Local Ownership over Corporate Takeover
We’ll strengthen Main Street, not megastores—streamline permits, cut red tape, promote “Shop Dupont” weekends, and launch small storefront improvement micro-grants so family businesses can thrive.
2) Fair Housing + Strong Code Enforcement
Adopt a fair, consistent rental licensing & inspection program; crack down on chronic blight with due process; stand up a vacant-property registry; and connect residents to home-repair resources.
3) Fiscal Responsibility & Transparent Government
Publish a plain-English budget; post contracts, bids, and monthly spending online; require competitive bidding; and hold quarterly “open books” nights so residents can ask questions face-to-face.
4) Respect for Working Families
Keep fees predictable, services reliable, and schedules clear; expand recreation and after-school options through partnerships; and align borough decisions with everyday working realities.
5) Help for Our Elderly Community & Veterans
Create a Senior & Veteran Help Desk at Borough Hall; coordinate resource days with county/state partners; improve ADA access and safe sidewalks near senior housing; and support wellness checks and ride networks.
6) Innovative Financial Policies
Build a resilience reserve fund with strict guardrails; aggressively pursue state/federal grants; and pilot a public transparency ledger so residents can see where every dollar goes—no speculation with taxpayer money.
7) Cannabis Forward (Responsible & Lawful)
Recreational cannabis is not yet legal in Pennsylvania, but it’s coming. I’ll make sure Dupont is ready — with clear zoning, enforcement, and a plan to capture future tax revenue for public safety, seniors, and veterans the moment it becomes law.
8) Safe Streets & Infrastructure
Launch a multi-year paving plan, fix potholes fast, improve crosswalks and traffic calming by bus stops and senior areas, and invest in stormwater upgrades to reduce flooding and protect basements.
9) Parks, Clean & Green
Upgrade parks and play spaces; organize “Adopt-a-Block” cleanups; add seasonal yard-waste days; and support community gardens and trees that make our borough healthier and more beautiful.
10) Public Safety & Emergency Services
Back our volunteers and first responders with grant writing, training support, and equipment planning; keep hydrants and signage in top shape; and strengthen neighborhood watch and community policing.
11) Digital City Hall
Roll out a simple online 311 for issues (potholes, code, trash); set response time goals and publish results; modernize alerts (text/email) for service changes; and open non-sensitive data by default.
12) Ethics & Accountability
Disclose conflicts, enforce a no-pay-to-play culture, post my weekly office hours, and require that major decisions are debated in public—not decided in back rooms.
