Public Safety & Emergency Services
Every strong community rests on the people who protect it. In Dupont, that means our own police force and our volunteer firefighters — neighbors who step up every day to keep the borough safe. They show up no matter the hour, no matter the weather, often putting themselves at risk to protect others. That kind of dedication deserves more than just gratitude — it deserves real support.
Our police have done an amazing job keeping Dupont safe, often with limited resources. From responding quickly to emergencies, to keeping our neighborhoods orderly, to simply being a trusted presence on our streets, their commitment is clear. Alongside them, our Neighborhood Watch volunteers give their time to patrol our streets, keep an eye out for trouble, and provide that extra layer of security only neighbors can give. The partnership between our police and Neighborhood Watch shows what can happen when a town pulls together.
Our volunteer firefighters are another source of pride. They balance family life and jobs with the responsibility of answering the alarm whenever it rings. Too often, though, they’re left struggling with outdated equipment or having to fundraise just to keep things running. Safety should never depend on raffle tickets — it should be a borough priority.
As Mayor, I’ll push for:
- Stable funding for our fire department, so volunteers can focus on training and response, not constant fundraising.
- Support for our police force, including resources for equipment, training, and community policing programs that build trust.
- Strengthening our Neighborhood Watch program, with more coordination, communication, and recognition for the volunteers who step up.
- Better coordination with neighboring towns for mutual aid, because emergencies don’t stop at the borough line.
Dupont is fortunate to have its own police force, a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters, and a Neighborhood Watch program made up of caring neighbors. As Mayor, I’ll make sure all of them have the resources, respect, and support they need.
Because when our protectors are supported, every family in Dupont is safer.
