Ethics & Accountability
When I decided to run for Mayor, it wasn’t because I dreamed of politics — it was because of something that happened right here in town. After I filed a code complaint with my landlord, their response wasn’t to fix the issue, but to tell me to get out. That was a wake-up call. I’ve been trying to buy a home in Dupont for years, and every time I’ve put in an offer, I’ve lost out to LLCs and outside investors. Families like mine are being pushed out of the very place we grew up, while a small group of people end up owning the majority of our homes.
I’m sick of it. And I know I’m not alone. That’s why I’m running for Mayor — because I want a borough government that actually fights for the people who live here, not for outside money or special interests.
For me, ethics and accountability mean a few clear commitments:
- Open government: Meeting agendas posted before votes, not after. Contracts and bids open for everyone to see. No surprises.
- No pay-to-play: I won’t take money from special interests. I’ve built this campaign without donations because I believe Dupont should be led by people, not by checkbooks.
- Weekly office hours: I’ll set aside time every week where residents can come talk to me directly. No filters, no gatekeepers, just conversation.
- Conflict disclosure: If there’s ever even a hint of personal interest in a decision, it will be made public. Period.
- Protecting homes and neighborhoods: I will push back against the trend of outside LLCs and investor groups buying up our town one property at a time. Families should have a fair shot at building a life here, not be priced out by faceless corporations.
I’ve lived these struggles — from landlord retaliation, to losing out on buying a home, to watching neighbors forced to leave. That’s why I’ll bring more than just words to Borough Hall. I’ll bring a personal commitment to protecting our homes, keeping Dupont safe, and putting our residents first in every decision.
Because at the end of the day, leadership isn’t about titles or power. It’s about standing up for your neighbors when no one else will. And that’s exactly what I intend to do.
Dupont First. People First. Always.
